Our Story

Renzo Gracie Clarksville was founded on October 1, 2011, by Professor Brian Marvin as Clarksville Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy (CBJJA). While the academy’s early success was promising, Professor Marvin’s military obligations led him to entrust the school to his students in June 2012, including Professor James Hoskins, who now serves as our owner and program director.

Since our founding, we have trained military personnel, civilians, men, women, and children in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Over the years, we have expanded our offerings to better serve our growing community:

  • 2021: Introduced Boxing and Circuit Fitness.
  • Fall 2022: Expanded to include Judo, Wrestling, and Muay Thai.
  • December 2024: Launched our MMA program.
  • January 2025: Expanded our women’s BJJ schedule and added Kickboxing.
